Messi's team were three goals ahead when he scored.
This was Messi's 50th La Liga goal of the 2011-12 season. It came in a 4-0 win over Espanyol at Camp Nou. It set the record for the most La Liga goals in a single season, a scarcely believable 50. It was his fourth goal of the match.
